A Computed Tomography (CT)
scan is a specialized x-ray procedure that creates detailed
images of the inside of the body. CT creates a series of cross
sectional x-rays or slices that are analyzed by a computer. Each
series only takes a fraction of second. CT produces clearer,
more precise images of the internal organs than plain x-rays.
The CT scanners at South Florida Medical Imaging yields
multi-slice computed topographic images in milliseconds. This
enables the doctor to capture high-quality images that may
not have been available before.
SFMI has two operational CT scanners: a
Philips 16-slice scanner and just added the latest technology
Philips 64-slice CT.
We are an important teaching center and
hold monthly courses for Physicians that come from all over the
world to learn CT coronary angiography.
