CTA: CURVED MPR
LAD (TOP); ANGIOGRAM (BELOW)
Diagnosis:
MID LAD CHRONIC TOTAL OCCLUSION
77 y/o FEMALE
Discussion:
This patient was
being evaluated preoperatively for an orthopedic procedure. She
had no cardiac history other than dyslipidemia and strong family
history of CAD. She had a normal EKG and nuclear stress test.
The CTA was ordered because of her risk factors.
The CTA
demonstrates advanced disease in the proximal LAD with a short
segment occlusion of the mid LAD (notice the gap) and confirmed
on angiography. The distal LAD has retrograde flow. She
was subsequently revascularized.
