Dr. Baum has been practicing Cardiology in Boca Raton, Florida since 1991. A graduate of Columbia College and Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Baum completed residency training in Internal Medicine and Fellowship training in Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology and Electrophysiology. Dr Baum has served as Director of the Electrophysiology and Cardiac Catheterization laboratories at both Boca Raton Community Hospital and North Ridge Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In addition to his more "traditional" practice of clinical cardiology, Doctor Baum has also worked extensively in the fields of Integrative Medicine and Preventive Cardiology. He directed the John W. Henry Center for Integrative Medicine and the Mind/Body Medical Institute (an affiliate of Harvard's Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital) at Boca Raton Community Hospital, taught a graduate level course in Integrative Medicine at Florida Atlantic University, and has lectured to both physicians and non-medical groups across the country about the pros and cons of Integrative Medicine. His 2004 publication in JANA addresses the risk of excessive antioxidant ingestion, and the need for individualizing the approach to nutritional supplementation. Dr. Baum also founded VitalRemedyMD, a nutritional supplement company dedicated to the education of doctors and their patients, as well as the formulation and production of medically directed nutritional supplements(www.vitalremedymd.com). In order to bolster his practice of Preventive Cardiology, Dr. Baum has developed an expertise in the fields of Lipidology and CCTA.  In November 2005 he became one of a handful of U.S. cardiologists to earn Board Certification in the field of Clinical Lipidology through the National Lipid Association, NLA (www.lipid.org). He lectures nationally on the clinical utility of assessing Lipoprotein particles through NMR testing (www.liposcience.com).  Additionally, in June of 2005, Dr. Baum began co-directing an introductory course on CCTA. Dr. Baum has appeared as a guest on numerous radio and television programs, including National Public Radio, The Voice of America, The CBN 700 Club, Fox network and MSNBC.
